We arrived at the airport 2 hours before flight departure. We went to the check in desk to find that there was no seats for us. BA has sold our seats. We were told that it's general practice and that we should wait, as someone may not show up and than we will get a seat. As it turned out a seat was made available only in the last minute, but unfortunately there was no time for us to get from check-in to the plane in time. As a result BA told us that we can not get compensation as there were seats on the flight. So we had to wait 4 hours for the next flight and did not get compensation. When we finally arrived to Amsterdam they lost our luggage. They did not even apologize. Unbelievable. We do not recommend BA.
