On November 22, my wife and I flew from Houston to Roatan, Honduras, with a one hour layover in Miami, Florida. When we arrived in Roatan, our luggage wasn't on the plane. We are both scuba divers and these were our dive bags, so we were pretty much at a loss. We also noticed other passengers from Miami, to Roatan had their bags lost, too. We received little help at the AA front desk regarding our luggage. They hadn't a clue where the bags were. So, off to the hotel resort-without luggage. On November 23, I had to cut my levi pants into shorts because the weather was pretty warm. I received my luggage that night (23rd) but my wife didn't get her luggage until Friday night (28th), the night before we flew back to Houston. My wife had to rent dive gear from the dive shop and she also had to borrow my clothes to wear during the week. We attempted calling the local AA customer service and The US 800 number, but we didn't receive much help. We filed an online bag locator report, to no avail. We did everything we were suppose to do regarding our luggage, to no avail. This vacation was a huge disappointment because of our lost luggage. Of course, we decided to fly United Airlines back to Houston because I didn't have enough confidence in AA to handle my luggage from Roatan back to Houston.
If I have any advice for anyone traveling AA, use another airline. I will never, ever, ever use american airlines again, unless I absolutely have to.
WARNING!!!!!! Don't book with american airlines or US airways!!!!!!!!!
