American Airlines lost our luggage on the way to our destination and on our way home. We had to spend extra money to buy toiletries for the first night of our trip. We were told someone would contact us once our luggage was found. After no call at 8:00 the next morning we contacted them only to be told that our luggage was found but that it could take up to 6 hrs for them to return it to us. That was a month ago and still no real compensation. All of our flights left late causing us to almost miss our connecting flights. The planes were very disgusting, and the flight attendants and other employees were rude and not helpful at all. It's no wonder they have the cheapest flights available. Apparently it's true with them you get what you pay for. We will make sure to pay the extra money next time to avoid them. They take forever to get everyone boarded onto the plane. It's not worth flying with them.
