We had first class tickets flying home from Hawaii. AA changed planes 2 hrs prior to take off and consequently did not have enough first class seats for those having tickets (no-one was allowed to sit in first class (that was fair).
The issue is that we paid for one and used mileage pts for the others and what we received was business class. We spent an outrageous amt of money and points for first class and didn't receive it. Nor were we notified of the change, given an apology or reimbursed the difference. I can't wait to see what the airline tells me tomorrow when I call but I feel 99% confident they will say tough luck.
