Recently took a trip from New York to San Francisco on an AA flight. What a disaster. As per usual the flight was oversold, which means there were people waiting on standby to get on the plane. My wife and I were assigned seats on opposite ends of the plane, which was disgusting, and no the not so helpful staff wouldnt move us.

I spent the whole time stuck at the back of a 767 - right where the toilets are. Helpful tip - if you can choose your seats (which you can't with AA), make sure you choose seats away from the toilet, or you will spend an entire flight breathing in toilet.

A meal which was promised on the ticket also didn't materialise. A complimentary beer was not complimentary, you had to get your money out.

The flight was delayed by an hour.

There was no personal entertainment - it was by shared screen - inexcusable on a 6 and a half hour flight.

All in all a disaster. Makes Virgin and BA look positively saintly in comparison.
