Firstly this is a 2013 model HW77K with new pattern laminate stock. The old pattern stock is no longer available, nor apparently is the long-barrelled HW77 with laminate stock. Not everyone wants a cut-off field gun rather than a target rifle.
Ugly gun, needs the longer barrel.
New stock nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as the old (the gun pictured here has the old stock).
But more importantly:
The gun cannot be uncocked once cocked, it must be fired.
The annoying automatic safetly catch (H&S rubbish?) once released, cannot be reset without cocking the gun again. WHY?
Personally I want a safety catch that I can apply and release when I need it, not when the gun thinks it should be on.
Accuracy - no better than my Webley Vulcan over 30 yards, although that could be me. Much noisier.
Weight - not a problem as stated in other reviews of HW77's. Feels good and solid. Laminate (brown/green/grey) is nice but stock shape ugly.
Given the hassle getting hold of the right gun nowadays I have kept it, but would have much preferred the full-length gun with original stock pattern, lamimate or not.
