“Totally Reliable”

Written on: 06/08/2016 by Adrian.70 (1 review written)

This was my second Air Rifle having only starting to shoot about 4.5 months ago. I've totally enjoyed shooting this reliable rifle at my club. I've shot three 94/100's so far and looking for more. My only dislike is the mass weight and couldn't see myself Hunting with it unless there was the facility for a sling. Well done Walther… Read Full Review

“accurate reliable cheap”

Written on: 04/03/2016

Bought a rm8 in .22 as my back up to my Bsa r10 mk2 in same calibre. Comparing this rifle is easy, I shoot alot! Rimfire, shotgun and air rifle. The rm8 needs a mod fitted if used for vermin control. It would also benefit from sling studs. Other than that I have fitted mine out and included a Hawke 3-9-40 IR scope. Simply its excellent and will group with jsb exacts at 50 yards under 10mm. It produces a very consistent 11.4ftlbs faultlessly and if this was available when I bought my r10 I would… Read Full Review

“Walther rotex rm8”

Written on: 28/08/2015 by baggus (6 reviews written)

I bought a rm8 in 177 about 7 weeks ago. This gun is too heavy for me to use from a standing position. I bought a bottle clamp and a bipod and now use it sitting at the range or laying down. Even in 177 the shot count is high and gives more than 100 shots per refill. I found it a bit wild if filled to 232 bar but 200 bar gives better results. Accuracy is acceptable but I can't put pellet on pellet at 50 yards as some people say they can. 30 yard accuracy is good and is about my average distance… Read Full Review

Baggus's Response to baggus's Review

Written on: 07/09/2015

Another thing I would have liked would be a larger magazine capacity in the 177 cal. This gun has now become a bit erratic I have cleaned the barrel and changed from rws to jsb pellets in 4.52 to see if I can improve things. I welcome any comments on pellet choice to improve accuracy. The groups seem tighter with the jsb pellets and I will know better when I have fired a few hundred shots.

After cleaning and getting the barrel leaded again the gun has improved I have shot 32 pellets through a 12 mm hole at a measured 35 yards using a bench rest.this is with jsb exact pellets.

“Rotex RM8 .177”

Written on: 12/07/2015 by Andersont274 (1 review written)

Bought a new RM8 in .177 this week and am very pleased with it so far. Too soon to give any shot count figures but on an initial fill of 180bar I have shot about 12 mags and it is now indicating 100bar on the rifle gauge which seems to tie in quite closely to my bottle gauge. So far I have done two 5 shot chrono strings, one at 150bar and another at 100bar and both show an extreme spread of 4fps and 5fps, which demonstrates clearly that this rifle does indeed have a regulator, details of which… Read Full Review

“Value for Money”

Written on: 21/06/2015 by Monique1976 (1 review written)

I have owned my RM8 in .177 for a couple of weeks, and consider it to be very good value for money. I have only used it on the range up to now, shooting targets at 30 and 42 yds. It's performance has been consistantly good at these ranges, producing impresive groups using AA Diablo Field pellets. The bolt action is smooth and precise, the magazines are easy to fill, easy to install and eject. I have to say that the rifle is on the heavy side, but I guess that dosn't matter when using on a range… Read Full Review

“Rotex RM8 disappointment!”

Written on: 31/05/2015 by Kristianp127 (1 review written)

Purchased in late 2014 for field target work. Brilliant on targets out to 35M but beyond that needs improvement. The lack of power is the problem, 10.5 ft lbs was the best with a variety of quality pellets and not enough to reach the furthest targets without excessive hold over. Two e mails to Armex and one to Walther about the power level did not receive the courtesy of a reply. Its impossible to fine tune due to the anti tamper measures and any Customer care doesn't appear to exist which… Read Full Review

Had the same thing happen to me, I had a .22 that would manage 9 ft lb at best, in the end I had to take it back to the RFD, explain why it was not good enough and in the end they sent me a .177 version that made 11 ft lb. Other things to be wary of, this is an Air Magnum derivative built using the same low quality castings and alloys, there will be trouble ahead!

“Astounding! ”

Written on: 29/03/2015 by row33seat188 (1 review written)

Picked up my new RM8 a week ago. The fit and finish is right up ther with top class stuff from specialist manufacturers. The quality Minelli stock is gorgeous and wraps around the buddy bottle providing a comfortable platform for the forward hand. A nice padded but pad finishes it off.I fitted a Hawke 4x12x50 scope which tops it off nicely. The alloy 8 shot mag is beautifully made and a doddle to load and insert into the breech. The bolt action was a bit notchy at first but after 600 + shots… Read Full Review

“Disappointed.”

Written on: 21/02/2015 by SABREEVER (1 review written)

Stock is showing Hairline Cracks around thumgrip. Magazine does not turn with bolt action (has to be turned manually. I bought supposedly New at FULL Price but was a Display and try out gun. I bought on the Gun reviews I had watched and Walther Reputation. I have No confidence in the Gun or the Dealer and have to travel to replace or Refund but dealer offering NO options on the Phone and I fear will be very unhelpful. My travelling is costing nearly £30/ round trip. I fear many problems could… Read Full Review

“The battle of the cheap PCP rifles hots up!”

Written on: 19/01/2015 by secretagentmole (21 reviews written)

I bought a Walther R8 in .22 from a West Midlands gun shop. It was struggling to reach 10.5 ft lb with Sovereigns. That was at the height of the sweet spot. It was also tested by an RFD who agreed with my figures! So we contacted the seller and they agreed it was underpowered and asked what could be done. Seeing as the Galatian was also in .22 I asked if we could swap it for a .177! The seller agreed so we toddled off back to the midlands (bought it on the way back from seeing my sister who… Read Full Review
