“Time to cull the Kub”

Purcahsed on e of these for a friend so decided to trial it to make sure it worked. Magazines are similar to the Webley Raider, loading is easy, but cocking? Anybody used to the HW100 is advised to stay with that, the Prestige is akin to a good rowing machine rather than a slick, smoothly operated cocking and loading system.

Trigger, heavy, not much feel, very poor for such an expensive rifle. Stock, nicely shaped, not woo well finished a bit rough in a few places, nice colour too. Nicest part of the gun I think. Bluing, on barrel it is awful, uneven and an insult to even an air rifle of Chinese manufacture. On a gun of this price I would have returned it immediately stating that the finish is not what I would expect of such an expensive rifle.

In short the Prestige is a little bit of a con. Supposedly made in England, hence the expensive price, but sports an action that says "Made in ROK", which as anybody could Google is the Republic of Korea, so not an English air rifle, no what anybody tells you. This is an expensive sort of SMK, however it does not enjoy the price advantage of that particular rifle!
