I bought a BSA Lightning XL .177 about 12 mths ago, it handles beautifully but when I first fired it, God it was loud, it sounded louder than my un-silenced .22 rimfire. The silencer is awful so I modified it, and it was extremely pellet fussy and grouped like a shotgun. However, if you hold the rifle very loosely, and let it recoil freely it's a very accurate gun especially with RWS and Air Arm pellets, but at first I could have easily chucked the bloody thing in the river. My next gun will either be a Webley or a Weihrauch. The sales pitch and "expert" reviews made this gun sound like it could hit the eye of a mosquito at a 1000 yards, in reality it don't, nice gun but a bit temperemental.
