I just bought the S2 .22 and found that unlike my S2.177 it was accurate and the trigger was lighter.
The barrel "IS" rifled although all the adverts for this pistol say the .22 is smoothbored?
It requires no work to make it better other than some decent lubrication.
My S2 .177 requires the barrel to be recrowned as the pellets fly way high and right, which I will do with a brass screw and valve grinding paste.
I think the quality or lack of is going to vary from pistol to pistol, if you get a bad one at least they are easily fixed.
Neither pistol will out shoot my Webley Premier but they are both fun to shoot and work on.
