Buyer BEWARE!

Buyer Beware - IT may have the GREE name - BUT it might be fake - or that is what they say.

I purchased a GREE Split Air Conditioner Model # GWHD12BBND3A1A1

in April of 2011 from Elite Heat Pumps in Moncton (who have since gone out of business). It was installed in June of 2011. I purchased it for $9603.87

I started having problems, and when I found the company who I purchase had gone out of business, I contacted GREE Canada.

They refuse to cover the warranty. They excuse was that Elite had bought the units in China (I thought they all came from China) therefore they will not be covered by GREE Canada.

The product has "GREE" logo on it, it has the same Model number that I can find on their site, but somehow magically it is not the same. Therefore Buyer BEWARE........even if you think you are buying "GREE"........that doesn't mean anything. I am not sure what you will need to do to know if it is authentic but somehow a person on the phone from GREE Canada will tell you if it is "real" or not.

I would advise anyone that is thinking of buying a GREE that you back away, because there is no way of knowing if it is "real" or not or if it will be covered
