Purchased this machine (Plasma Cool PC-14E) in 2010 from Canadian Tire for about $700.

We used the machine for 2 1/2 months and then put it away for the season. When we turned it back on the following May, the compressor made grinding noises and it was very loud. My husband contacted the manufacturer and we were told there was a known defect with the compressor.

After 8 months we had a replacement unit free of charge. We had to email and call numerous times to get the replacement as the person dealing with us changed more than once.

The replacement unit was loud from the very beginning but at least it blew cool air at us. We used it for the summer season (May-September) and then put it away for the winter.

This summer the troubles have begun again. It is currently leaking onto my carpet and emitting a rotting meat smell.

I will never buy this machine or a machine like it again and would strongly recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing this that they save their money.
