Mountains to Sea trail, Country & Beach Getaway, Sardinia

I cant tell you what an amazing time I had! I cant believe I have only been away for a week I feel that relaxed and chilled out it is like I have been away for months!

The horse I rode for the trail was a very strong little mare with a bucket full of character, I wish I could have brought her home! I really don't know how she carried me up the mountain but she worked very hard for me every day and I was very grateful.

The highlight of the trail for me was the decent from the mountains towards the beach and the ever changing landscape that came with that. Topped off with arrival at the beach and a paddle in the sea. My horse loved the water and there was plenty of splashing which ended up with us both soaking wet, I am still trying to dry my boots out!

It was nice to see how well the horses are cared for by their owner who met us every morning to saddle the horses himself to make sure it was done properly and every night to check that the days trail had not caused any damage to the horses.

The setting of the hotel and stables is so quiet and calming you cant help but relax, especially when one of the packs of horses is free to roam around the grounds during the day and can often be found hanging out around the pool!

I was a little nervous at first because I was the only English guest and I do not speak any other languages, but after a couple of days all other nationalities started speaking to each other in English so I was ok!

This is a location that I would recommend to any level of rider as they do cater for everyone. The trail I would definitely only recommend to experienced riders as the going can be tough on the way up the mountain and it is only fair to the horses to have experienced riders. I would love to return to this destination and try one of the other riding packages that they offer. I was also comforted by the number of guests that were on their 2nd or 3rd visit! At least 3 of the couples at the hotel were returning guests!
