Mr. Imtiaz Longi, of Longi Associates, is one of the shrewdest individuals I have come across. He will not only rob you of hard earned money by way of professional fees, but also bleed you to death by sabotaging your entire business by giving you deliberate erroneous guidance. I came across Mr. Longi thru a reference. I own a travel agency in Uxbridge and was looking for TTA license to gain more credibility for my brand name. As the paperwork was complicated I hired Mr. Longi who claimed to have got TTA for various other clients. Everything went file during the application process and we got the TTA license. Though it took lot more than the promised duration, but we never raised any concern as it was beyond his control. Things started to go awry soon. Mr Longi knew our business process in and out. Although we never hide anything from TTA, but we already had one GDS license which we told Mr Longi. He never bothered to explain us that this is not acceptable to TTA. And surprisingly, TTA came to know exactly about the same GDS ID within 1 month of granting us the license. It was not a co-incidence that Mr Longi didn’t warn us of this and someone informed TTA about the same soon after we got the license. Our license got terminated. We didn’t have any direct evidence against Mr Longi for conniving against us. Soon after, Mr Longi offered us to apply for ATOL license, as TTA license could not be revived. We had no other choice but to opt for ATOL. He charged us more than what he took for TTA and promised ATOL license within 6-8 months. It took more than 12 months and as previously, once he got his fees his response was always lethargic. During all this while, Mr Longi new exact details about our company structure, number of Directors, our operations and suppliers. We got the ATOL around August 2012, and as we were making some changes in our company’s Directors, we decided not to use the ATOL for the time being. This time we paid Mr Longi for yearly consultancy charges as well, which included each and every matter related to ATOL. Again Mr Longi never bothered to advise us lot of critical aspects of ATOL and how our business practice not in line with ATOL guidelines. E.g. our bank account was already in use prior to applying for ATOL, we didn’t have written agreements from few of our ticket suppliers, our Merchant facility was not based in UK and that we can’t just not use ATOL once we have been granted the license. Soon all these matters cropped up and ATOL started enquiring about our reservations. Instead of providing his expert guidance at this time, Mr Longi simply started blaming us for not reading the ATOL guideline properly and that he cant do much to salvage the situation. This was when he had robbed us of more than GBP 2700 for the ATOL license and yearly consultancy. He simply opted to stay out and left us to argue our case directly with ATOL. As anticipated, ATOL highlighted exact flaws in our process, which either we knew or Mr Longi knew. It just re-affirmed our belief that Mr Longi was deliberately back stabbing us, after getting us the license, so that he could thrive on our miseries by compelling us to pay him more for saving the licenses. Mr Longi is running a firm not for getting you travel related licenses, but to entrap you into a cycle of getting licenses, then screwing licenses, then give consultancy to save the same licenses, and then to get the license terminated so that next level of license could be applied. It’s all very well planned and I am taking everything to next level by taking him to trading standards. Mr Longi is one scavenger who is living on the flesh of dying travel agencies in the troubled UK travel market.
