I really have to say the Subaru Forester doesn't get enough credit in the world. This is my second car. My other was a Cavalier 97'. Although, I've driven alot of cars in my time. This is easily the best that I have so far, and I am nothing but pleased with the car. Don't let the pictures fool you this car looks more like a station wagon than a typical SUV and is light enough to pose as midsize car. Keep in mind though i own the x version which only has 170hp. This isn't a 'sporty' car, and isn't made for that, if your interested in that kinda stuff. The car's typical 0-60 is about 10seconds, so don't be suprised when it doesn't blow your mind. This is supposed to be the family type car. It doesn't have the Turbo and typically comes standard equiped. All and all I have to say this is the best car I've owned or driven. Highly recommended if you want a cheap awd, good gas mileage car.

This car is my first car, and I can say that although it is small and plain whenever i need it it always works well. I own the standard gearbox and it was a breeze to learn how to drive. I get about 27 MPG and the only thing that I've had to ever replace was a catalytic converter. Where I live we get a lot of snow in the winter and most of the roads are dirt. I took it to a parking lot last winter and tried to get the thing to slide. The best I could do is slide the car sideways a bit before it turned straight again. In the end, while its not exactly luxury, this car is very reliable and very safe.

This is my first car and I am the second owner and I find it hard to criticize it. I own the standard version and it was a breeze to learn how to drive. The car is at about 140,000 miles and all I've had to replace was a catalytic converter. It gets about 27 MPG. Last winter I went to a parking lot and tried to get it to spin and I could only get the front end to wiggle a little in about a foot of snow and ice. It's not a luxury car but is is very reliable and is a great car.

If you want a practical car with reasonable performance and the ability to go a bit off road when required, a car that should remain reliable as long as it is cared for (unlike its Land Rover rival the Freelander) the Subaru Forester is the car for you.

I own more expensive transport than Subaru, as they are often off the road having warranty repairs. This is my second Subaru, not one thing has gone wrong in 8 years motoring and 90,000 miles, they also have a very good resale value.
