Engine Oil
Change oil after the first 300kms and every 1,000 kms thereafter. Change oil filter element every 5,000 kms. It's a screen thumbeline-like object when you open the filter nut assembly. It catches foreign materials in oil case.
Use API SH, SAE 10w-30 grade or better.
Oil capacity is 1.0 liter (0.85 liters for routine change).
After putting oil, check dipstick on the right side of the scooter located near the muffler. Oil should be between the upper and lower limit. Don't over fill the oil crank case. Change oil tip. Dont tighten the filter nut too much, turn it about a 1/10th turn using a wrench after hand tightening. I had to replace mine because one time I tightened it too hard. Just check for any leaks afterwards.
Reset the engine oil indicator located under the gauges (small, rectangular relief hole) using your ignition key. Indicator (below speedometer) shows green after re-setting after an oil change, after 1000kms color turns red to indicate that it's time to change oil
Transmission Oil (Gear oil)Change transmission oil after the first 300 kms and 5,000 kms thereafter. Use SAE 85W-140
Brakes
Brake Freeplay should be 10-20mm. Use Dot 3 Brake fluid if the oil reservoir is in the lower mark. Adjust accordingly
Batteries
The Shark is equipped with a maintenance free battery unless the previous owner changed it. Periodically inspect the battery terminals for corrosion and clean off dirt using a steel brush.
Sparkplug
Electrode gap should be 0.6~0.7 mm (check with feeler gauge)
Hand tighten the sparkplug as far as possible and then tighten it 1/2~3/4 turns with a sparkplug wrench. Use CR 8E for Shark 125
Tires
Stock tires F- 100/90-12 59J T/L; R- 130/70 59J T/L
Tire pressure (for stock tires) is located under your glovebox. The conversion to PSI is: 25 psi front and 28 psi rear (30 psi rear with a backride)
Air Cleaner
Clean every 1000kms more frequently when your area is dusty/heavily polluted
Remove mounting screws from aircleaner cover located at the right rear side of the scooter (opposite the muffler). Remove air cleaner cover and element. Take element out and clean using compressed air. Don't use any solvent.
Replace every year (more often if dusty conditions).
Fuel
Main stand should be put down on the ground, engine shut off when filling
Dont fill above upper limit (metal rod near the mouth of the fuel tank) of the fuel tank when refuelling. Tighten the cap after refueling.
Fuel Tank capacity is 7.5 liters or around 225 kms cruising range (depending on road conditions and riding characteristics.)
use unleaded gasoline of 90 octane or higher

Note: Maintenance should be performed more often if the motorcycle is frequently operated in high speed and after the motorcycle has accumulated higher milage.
