If you want to keep your eliminator 125 looking good then you are going to have to spend time cleaning & polishing it regularly & especially during the winter months. Plastic chrome on some parts flakes & can go through chains as they stretch easy. Slow heavy bike but you pay for what you get. Better off with honda vt125 or yamaha virago 125 as hold there value better & nicer bikes. Ok as a commuter but you wil be bored with it after awhile.

In 2003 I purchased a new 2003 Yamaha Zuma and put 9,000 trouble free miles in it. In 2012 I purchased a new 2009 Kawasaki Eliminator 125 for $1,995 an incredible value. I put 1,300 miles on it during the first year and really enjoy it and a much more comfortable ride then the Zuma. 60 mph and 70 mpg. The 3.4 gal fuel tank allows for fewer fill ups and gives the bike a grown up look. The manual chock allows for easy starts on cold mornings. I recommend the bike to all riders.

I bought a used 2004 with 1500 miles on it. Have driven almost everyday for the past 6 months and now have 3300mi. Clutch cable broke, but easy to replace. Gotta watch the crankcase oil. Fun bike. I'm 155 pounds and max speed is 64mph on the flat. Mileage is 65-80 mpg, but usually 70 (with 10% ethanol, 75mpg with pure gas). I love the mileage, enjoy the bike, and really don't want anything bigger.

i have owned this bike for a little over a year, no problems, looks and runs great, modified exhaust, after 7,000 miles, no repair work, 75+ miles to the gallon, 70 mph, has been good to me, would recommend to any one.

I absolutely love this bike. It's not very quick - mine struggles to get more than 55mph - think it needs an extra gear! However, after leaving it standing for a year before using it again properly, the chain had stretched loads and needs replacing soon, even though it's young. And the engine has broken down on me a couple of times. However, I'd still recommend it, I believe it's just 'cause it was abused a little!

Bought Kawasaki bn125 eliminator brand new in 1999, needed rear suspension arm replacing after 4 months because it had been fitted incorrectly, either at the factory or by the dealer. At 7000 miles it needed the piston, rings and head replacing... by the time it was two years old it would breakdown if driven for more than a mile. Sat in the garage for a year then got rid of it. Seem to recall parts were a nightmare to get hold of.
often mistaken for a harley so killer looks but the engine was slugishly slow. With a full tank and my 11 stone top speed was 64mph on the flat, with the engine sounding like it needed an extra gear.
low seat design means rain collects on the seat so expect a wet crotch if riding any distance!
judging by the other posts Kawasaki must have improved the build quality on newer models

this is my 7 bike ive had suzuki's gz125 a honda ca125 and this one is kawasaki bn 125 but given the choice of the 3 i would have to recomend the gz it handles better its got a stronger engine and sounds better with the baffles out :). i do like being able to remove the rear section of exaust on teh bn (for my health and safty) people hear you comeing . im not to impressed with the head lights running off the aultinator as lights get brighter the faster you rev the engine but the bike dose have grate ground clerance when conering im not saying the bn is a bad bike but the gz feels more solid ( and if you buy a ca125 honda rebble watch out for turning hard left the bolt that holds the gear shift on can unwind not fun trying to find a bolt at midnight

Have enjoyed using the bike as a commuter to work. Smooth and quiet, comfortable ride but quite slow. I don't need to do any more than 40 mph on my run to work, but on the weekend I have only had it up to 55 mph max. Despite the lack of grunt it is a nice looking bike and does the job it is intended to do. Before I bought it I thought it would be quicker but it trades off the speed for classic looks.
I liked the electric starter, the low ride for the shorter person and the appearance. It looks a bigger bike than a 125 with it's big tank and heavier build. Cost of insurance for me was 175, tax 15.

Bought an 06 Eliminator ( Candy thunder blue ) as a 1st geared bike to get me to work and back each day. Reliable , good on fuel , tax and insurance and what a head turner, i'm moving to a bigger bike in 3 months time and i'll be sorry to see her go, love it to bits - and what a growl on the engine for a single cylinder :D

GET ONE! I have only owned this bike for one day and it is my 1st geared bike, so my thoughts may not be all that relevant to those of you thinking of buying one. All I can say is that the bike was delivered to me at midday and I've just got in (9pm), after riding it here, there and everywhere.
Most of the reviews on here were spot on and I'm glad I read them before deciding on a BN125. I got my 2007 A6F model for what seems a poultry £870.00. It cost £150 to insure fully comp, so I was on the road for just over a grand.
Gear changes are smooth, the clutch is very forgiving and the bike corners beautifully. I've just done almost 9 hours (only stopping for petrol and a bag of chips) without any aches or pains, so it is comfy. Hugs the road like a dream and does a comfy 60-65mph and approx 60-80mpg depending on how it's ridden. It's a real looker too (mine's blue).
If it breaks down tomorrow it'll still be the best 870 kwid I've ever spent.
Only tiny problem I've encountered is that it is too big to get through my back gate, so tomorrow I'm getting a bigger back gate and making a bigger hole in the wall! NUFF SAID, but I'll keep you updated.

A wicked bike. Fantastic easy to use bike. My first bike after mt CBT and I use it to commute to work. I did have a problem with it starting but found that you can get cheap parts on ebay and the main parts brand new are not too bad either. Mine is the 1998 version and now that it is working (contacts needed changing - cost £30 brand new) it is something of a special bike. It looks bigger than it is and sounds it also. I just wish it was a 250cc or higher, for quicker overtaking.

Did my CBT one year ago today on a Honda, had to get a bike to get to work and liked the look of the eliminator and am so glad I did it looks cool and is such an easy bike to ride. Only use it to get 2 and from work (30 mile round trip) I have seen heads turning as I drive round rural England! only bad point I can think of is the speed, the fastest I have got it up to is 71 mph but that was on the hottest day of the year so engine must a been nice and warm already normally top speed is 60 ish. Brill first bike no complaints here. From someone who never drove a bike before I definitely recommend it as a first bike!

The Kawasaki 123 Eliminator ideal first bike after passing CBT, plenty enough power. Very smooth clutch and excellent to ride. I love this bike and would recommend. My husband even prefers my bike to his Ducati 600 SS!
Looks great.

Stylish, efficient and well designed. You would love the 5 speed results. Is the best beginners bike. None of the others gives the look and beauty.

I chose the Kawasaki 125 Eliminator as my first bike, reasonalbly priced it got me on the road but I was surprised at what a quality bike this was, never let me down once, I thrashed it about for a few years before I decided to move onto a more powerful machine. Great starter bike.

125-restrictive learner laws in the UK narrowed my choice of first road bike. However, given my limited options, I decided on looks ahead of power, and invested in an Eliminator. A great price deal from my local dealer saw me ride out (on the obligatory 'L' plates) on this smashing looking bike. There is no doubt, the looks of the bike are a big plus in this engine category. The bikes are inexpensive to buy, and inexpensive to run: £1.9k new, £15 annual road tax, £90 TPFT insurance (age 28, 1st bike on Ls) and 80mpg. Many people will be chuffed to ride this thing. But.... I'm over 6ft tall, I weigh over 16 stone, I ain't Japanese and I ain't small. Conclusion? Going up hills ain't pretty. In fact, any situation in which you need power is far from ideal for this bike. Therefore, smaller chaps and chappesses will appreciate it more than us more muscular (i.e. portly) types. After an hour or so, I got numb bum syndrome, but nothing too harsh I couldn't bear it.
As a 1st bike, I recommend it. Be prepared to want to shift up pretty quickly though. I ain't been past 55 mph (bearing in mind I'm still on engine break-in), but much more ain't very likely. Sweet looking though, and so far, no cold/wet start disasters.

What can I say about this little Kawasaki 125 Eliminator, she's a beauty. Looks great. Ideal learner bike. So easy to handle it is a pleasure to ride, I find myself going everywhere the long way around as I just dont want to get of once I am on. The bike handles so well, I recommend anyone to have this bike. How good does it look?! So good I keep her in the house! I just want to keep adding more bits, the more I add the bigger she looks!
