just smiling all the time, the engine is good and because its automatic on traffic lights you pull up instantly you can even beat the blades if you need to, the cars are way behind, the linked brakes are perfect and contrary to the MCN review the brakes bite is smooth and progressive if you need you can stop very fast like car not like regular bikes, I do 80 miles daily commute from South east to East London and back and it cost me about 6 pounds for 2 trips about 15 pounds weekly, you do the mpg math.

“Had since 2008 and still brilliant ”

What an amazing bike . One of the best made bikes so reliable. Great speed great balance . 14 years old . I have o changed the oil after about 800 miles 2 filters . New tyres one exhaust its only had one pro service in 14 years . And has never let me down . Mirrors could be longer that is the only problem I found superb bike I absolutely love it . Top box a must get loads of shopping in it or helmet. Under seat box to small for full face helmet . But with top box that's no problem .

“Brilliant little machine”

★★★★★

written by Warren465 on 11/09/2014

Had my PS for for four years, only covered 2500 miles as I use it with my motorhome but it's brill. Very brisk around town, 100 mpg, will do over 60mph two up and can handle two full face helmets with the top box. Nearly all my riding is two up and the large seat really helps to make it feel comfortable. I service the bike myself and nothing has gone wrong, would have liked a side stand but it has everything else needed inc a fuel gauge and clock. Looks ok but would not suit a 17 year old as it's a practical machine. At 6 foot I find it very comfortable but can understand why shorter riders may feel it's to tall. Highly recommended as a form of cheap reliable transport with Honda parts backup.

common fault with the ps125, the bike wants to stall and not run properly just had mine replaced at the cost of £420.00 and the bike is only two and half years old 2011.

It is perfect A to B bike, lets face it gear shifting in town is a pain, and belt drive means no chain with messy oil, just enjoy the free ride. I was thinking to get PCX, but PS125i has way better comfort, probably because I am 6 foot 16 stone, and other small scooters handles hit ny knees, this one is perfect, high seat, very good comfortable seat and suspension and the big tyres soaks potholes very well.

“Great Bike!”

★★★★★

written by siamir on 27/11/2011

I bought the Honda PS 125i a few weeks ago, after more then 6 years on a Honda Silverwing 600.. I can't erase the smile from my face! The sitting ON the bike and not IN the bike is very useful in urban environment, the weight is almost half of the Silverwing, and the filling in tough traffic is like a butterfly! It's light, fast, comfortable, and looks great! For that price I would accept a rear disc brake, and a side jack.

“Honda PS 125 streets of Jerusalem - agile,strong and...”

★★★★★

written by on 23/10/2011

At 1.89 meters and 14.5 stones you'd figure one would go for the Yamaha XMAX, Piaggio EVO7 or a Honda SilverWing. Yet, I went for the Honda PS 125. It's not a maxiscooter like the above forementioned- but its 130 kilograms dry - so the weight is substantial- it can knife through traffic magnificently- has nice power at the starts- and has a nice high and comfortable 800 mm seat. Riding in Jerusalem is not for the feint at heart- its basically a zoo on the roads- and this baby can negotiate the urban chaos with the best of them. The fuel economy is excellent ( 30 kms/litre ), it has fine lines and a great look and strongly built. I highly recommend this bike for its agility, fuel consumption, looks and stability. If you are thinking about getting a new bike, live in a crowded urban environment and are tallish - this is a wonderful bike

“Honda Ps125i”

★★★★☆

written by Paleserpant on 06/10/2011

Purchased mine new in May 2011 , downsized from a Gsxr 600 ! Just wasn't using it enough . The scoot's so much more practical . Good points are mainly as written previous ; Build quality Reliability Performance 60-65 comfortably . 80-90 mpg Handling* Clock & fuel guage Full size scooter* Re-sale value Minor gripes ; No side stand Storage space. Can't get a fullface underseat. Though you can cable lock it Mirrors need longer stalks . *Hard suspension , may soften up with miles . *Seat height . It's fine for me but try it for size . All said and done well pleased with it . Don't go as far as i did on the Gsxr , 20 miles max but use it so much more .

“Happy scooting”

★★★★★

written by isotopicdreams on 20/06/2011

When bumbling around for a "Scoot" not "moped", see i'm educated now, It was a mine field. Bike for the knowledge was why. Looking at the chinese import market, as we all do at first, I read and researched till my eyeballs fell out. Chinese market ok but it has problems when coming to parts and quality issues too. There are some 10,000 chinese parts makers out there and it takes an importer with great knowledge to know which are the real deal. The Japanese market was more stable for me. How did it come to Honda? I was sitting in a dentist waiting room and picked up a national geographic. Near the back I saw photos of thailand, south korea and the likes. In these pictures were old men riding club 90's with upright piano's on the back. And others with cattle on Honda bars in driving rain and mud and I thought this is the one for me. As canbilised as they are they were still hondas and I've had my trusty bike since with no probs at all. I bought my psi cheaper back then new and can really understand why they have gone up in price. They've made another bench-mark bike to keep up with. No doubt i'll be seeing this bike in future mags in the year 2050 with robot parts being lugged around in the third world. Service worth it, you get your money back in bundles. £7.?? to fill. Your laughing. Enjoy, I am.

“I bought my PS125 from Hunts Motorcycles in Manchester...”

★★★☆☆

written by sidney100 on 24/05/2011

I bought my PS125 from Hunts Motorcycles in Manchester just over a year ago. It has never let me down and is a very good ride.
I would not buy one of these brand new again as the servicing is very expensive to keep the warranty valid.
600 mile service. £28.00
2500 mile £104.00 Actual
5000 mile £142.00 Actual
7500 mile £142.00 My estimation
10,000 mile £142.00 " "
12,500 mile £142.00 " "
If you did 12000 mile in 1 year the total cost of servicing would be around £700. 2 years could be over £1400, probably a lot more, because a replacement drive belt would be needed.
Look after the exhaust as it can corrode very easily and it looks a very expensive piece of kit. Servicing and the corrosion are the only reason I am giving this bike 3 stars. If you are not worried about the warranty and you can service it yourself and rust proof some bits, which I am now going to do, then all should be ok

Gosh, you must be really patriotic to bother going to a Hunter blah blah service men.Go to a brazilian garage and forget about warranty. It's Honda, will last forever. If broke down the brazilians will fix it for 1/3 of the price. I change oil every 500 miles for 6 pounds with them. How much is yours? 50, 80 pounds?!

well previous to my last post when i had done 1000 miles i have now done 4300 miles and not a single fault, its been a fantasic scooter not the cheapest to run but cant complain and i love the clock so i know if i am late getting to work, if only i could device a way of redirecting the heat from the air vents up to the handle bars, that maybe my next project, i would have another without a doubt, i had a look at the new pcx but they are very small and not as fast as the ps125i , so ill stick with mine for the near future,

I have owned the bike from brand new for over 2 years now... I use it for getting back and fourth to college and also a weekend trip to colchester and back from luton ( 75 miles ) At the time of writing this i have done 13500 miles xD. Only problem ive ever had was the exaust, something broke in the inside and prevented the bike from getting over 30MPH!! but honda quickly repaired it as it was still un warranty. I am a bit of a nutty rider so i must agree with the last review this bike " sticks like glue ".
I have had previous bikes such as a peugeots off rider and a speed fighter and too be honest compared to this bike they are very poorly made. Top speed = 65mph, Fuel is amazingly cheap, 5/5 for me.

well just to update from my previous review , had the my honda ps125i bike a few more weeks and its done close to 1000 miles, and not a problem with it, infcat i have to say now i like it better than my old cbf125 as i feel safer with the chuncky tyres, of which the cbf did not have, loads of storage, never fails to start, and is so easy to use, just like i said last time its a tall scooter, the only downside is the fuel guage is the wrong way round, when the needle is left its full and right its empty, and the other week i went to work 38 miles of country lanes on the red thinking it were full, but hey it got me there and then to the petrol station so i cant complain to much, would i have another after this , you bet i would , not as cheap to run as a cbf but more pratical, i get around 110 miles per tank,

“well my last bike was a cbf of which was awsome, but...”

★★★★★

written by on 09/04/2010

well my last bike was a cbf of which was awsome, but as i am nearly 40 wanted a bikle with no gears so thought i would give a 125cc scooter a go, went for the ps125R as it was 0 per cent finance through honda, and was reduced to 2250 new, been 100 miles on it today, and whilst not as comfy as my old cbf125 , its a very practicle mode of transport, nippy, and im sure will get me A2B for the next couple of years, however this is a very high seating position and i am just over 6ft tall and have to tip toe when stopped, not a major problem but if your unsteady and like to have your feet on the ground when stopped, then check to see if you can reach first, just under £8.00 to fill it up and i would say it will do around the 95 mpg which for a cvt is ok, one good thing i do like is the built in clock in the dash, its so handy. i have put a top box on what i got from ebay for 35.00 It was for a SH125 but after couple of ajustments to the base plate of the box it has gone on with little effort, service is 600 miles, and then 2500 miles, then every 2500 miles , so they are quite often, or every six months if you dont use it much, the drive belt gets changed at 15000 miles which is excelent, im not one to keep or try and keep it pristine, i have got it to use and get to work and back, and honda do seem to be very reliable , i have had TGB in the past, great scooters but limited warranty and the cusomer service could be better, i would no doubt stick with honda on my next scooter,

“I just picked up my New PS 125 from the showroom with...”

★★★★★

written by Omid Hejazi on 01/03/2010

I just picked up my New PS 125 from the showroom with New 10 plates on :-) I originally went to Honda Chiswick but the sales man there started blabbing on about that he's the senior sales manager and there is no way he can do anything more than the Knowledge board for free if I opted for the 0% finance. So I called up Motoden.com and spoke to a guy called Russell based in central London and told him to beat their deal and i'd come down same day to sign the papers. So he did, 0% finance, Free L plates, Free Tax holder, Free Knowledge Board and 10% off any accessories which saved me a bundle. He put all of it on the finance so i didnt even feel the pinch as it went up by only a couple of quid when i bought the £215 Shoei Raid Lid and the brilliant 3 layer Jacket.

I've only done 50 miles on it and to be fair there are many other reviews you can read about its reliability which is what i read before buying the PS. Hopefully i'll save you a couple of quid. I in actual fact am riding the PS and it is not costing me a Penny! How? well! My Oyster card to come into town for work costs £152 a month as I work in Chancery Lane and live in Zone 5 and the finance is £100 and insurance £17 a month and the rest can cover the petrol so I may even make a couple of quid a month. As long as I dont fall off it im a happy bunny and that makes it a good idea to get a new bike on 0% finance.

There is also a thing called GAP which if your PS gets nicked in the next 3 years and the insurance only pay you £1000 for it, GAP will cover the rest which you paid for the bike plus accessories if they got nicked too. it's a sweet deal and i dont even care if it gets nicked, total peice of mind.

Don't get 2nd hand, not worth it on a Scooter plus you dont want to pay out in a lump sum, that hurts too much.

The ride of the bike is great and straight away I hit 70MPH on the A40 and it had only done 10 miles on the clock :-)

Good Points - 0-50 is effortless

Bad Points - I look like a Power Ranger Now

“Honda ps 125 review: ”

★★★★★

written by on 22/02/2010

Honda ps 125 review:

It is a great scooter for nipping around the city. Have had it for 6 months now and have been really happy with the handling, brakes, reliability and for a four stroke 125, the performance. The top box is handy for waterproofs and a cover and my size 62 (massive) full face shoei helmet fits nicely under the seat. I do miss my old Ducati but for what I need it for this makes loads more sense.

Took it 20 miles up the motorway last week for its first service (£70-80ish) and it actually coped fine at 60-70mph indicated, despite my initial fears that it would be hopeless. Helps if you tuck in behind an HGV though! One thing with the servicing: - Honda now say that the valve clearances need checking at every service which means an extended wait as the engine needs to be cool properly before they can do this. This will probably mean higher servicing costs over the long term as well.

I got mine on a 0% deal with a free top box. It is nice owning a new bike but in retrospect I should probably have gone for a 2-3 year old properly serviced used one. They are so reliable that it would be very unlucky to get a duff one and it would have saved me about a grand! I'll be keeping it for ages and fully expect it to be going strong in 5 years time however.

Good points: Build, reliability, residuals, performance,
Bad points: Servicing costs

“If the PS125i is your first scooter you may be...”

★★★★★

written by on 01/11/2009

If the PS125i is your first scooter you may be surprised by the size; weight; acceleration and top speed.

Main strengths:

- Starts first time, every time;
- Can fit a full face lid under the seat (depending on the design);
- Flat floor is handy for shopping;
- Has a good road presence;
- Easy to filter through slow/stationary traffic;
- Fast away from traffic lights.

Main weaknesses:

- 800mm seat height might mean some riders can't put a foot flat on the ground.

The size can be both an advantage (good road presence) and disadvantage (high seat height). I have read reviews where 6ft riders have said it is too high. I'm 5ft 9", so can't put both feet flat on the floor when stationary but feel confident on tip-toes, or with one foot on the ground.

The PS125i has a good power to weight ratio for a 125cc scooter and easily accelerates away from traffic lights.

I've ridden mine on a 150 mile round trip which included national speed limit dual carriageways. Although it was capable, I was riding it at its limit (speed wise) and would have liked more power. On a downhill part I briefly got up to a speedo indicated 70 mph.

I recommend the PS125i (or SH125i) for journeys on roads with a speed limit of 60 mph or less.

Enjoy!
