Good Points

faster than most other 1.6s out there. handles like a go kart which is fun.cheap insurance. cheap tax.there every where so very easy to get bits for. also a lot of them in scrap yards so even easier and cheaper to sort if things go wrong

Bad Points

noisy, rattly, shaky, terrible on fuel. brakes are shocking so advise an upgrade as soon as u get it. gear change is clunky and slow seemingly a quick shift setup makes a good difference, mine doesn't have abs,(found that out on a wet road lol). doesn't have passenger airbag. cheap plasticky trim. inside trim is a bit dated. drives and ball joint always need replaced.a really noisy cooling fan.supposedly u can fit a vts twin fan in the vtr.it feels like its made out of old tin cans lol.

General Comments

owned my 2001(new shape) saxo vtr for 3 months. 1300 quid for 1 with 27000 on the clock with 1 owner and a full service history. what a bargain u would think. so far I've had to replace both drive shafts and 1 wheel bearing and 1 ball joint. I've done the full service to it including timing belt and it runs sweet. 4 michelin tyres and it handles immense without lowering or a strut brace yet. i drive it up the motorway and it rattles and gets blown about by a wee gust of wind and i watch as the fuel gauge drops. after i wash it i look at it in my drive and love the look of it. overall id say if u ve got some cash to spend on it, go and get 1. if u no what your doing then you can solve the bad points to these cars pretty cheap. can be a great wee project car
